What Puppy Ready is — and what it isn't

Why this site exists

A lot of puppy trouble is decided before the puppy ever arrives: the mismatch between a breed's needs and a household's reality, the missing routine, the first-night panic, the seller who should have been walked away from. All of it is avoidable with a bit of honest preparation — and most of that preparation is free.

Puppy Ready collects that preparation in one calm place: a first-days-and-weeks guide, a readiness checklist you can actually tick through, and a plain-spoken take on choosing a breed and sourcing a dog responsibly.

What we are not

• We don't sell, list, broker or rehome animals. No listings, no classifieds, no "available now". If you're looking for a dog, we'll point you toward shelters, rescues and responsible breeders — and tell you how to judge them for yourself.
• We're not vets. Nothing here is veterinary advice. Where health, vaccinations, diet or behaviour concerns come up, our answer is always the same: ask your vet, who knows your actual dog.
• We're not selling a course or a product. The guides are free to read, the checklist is free to take, and the email signup sends you the checklist — nothing is ever charged.

How we work

The advice here is deliberately general and deliberately boring: consistency, supervision, patience, and professional help from vets and qualified trainers when it's needed. Where rules vary by country or region — identification requirements, pet rules in rentals, what shelters ask of adopters — we say so and send you to the local source rather than guessing on your behalf.
